International Emmys Unveil News & Current Affairs Winners

In the news and current affairs categories, the 2021 International Emmys awarded programs about Covid-19 in Italy and the national health crisis in the U.K.

The winner of the International Emmy for news, A Warning from Italy (Sky News, U.K.) reveals the scale of the tragic spread of the coronavirus that saw Italy overtake China as the pandemic’s epicenter.

The International Emmy for current affairs was presented to In Cold Blood (Exposure) (DSP/ITV, U.K.), which examines the biggest treatment disaster in NHS history.

Both International Emmys were presented by the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences as part of an online ceremony with the National Academy’s US News Emmys.
