Indiepics has appointed factual producer Eoin O’Shea as its new head of international to develop a slate of programs for global networks and streamers.

O’Shea spent time at RTÉ early in his career before working in London and Bristol for 15 years with indie producers such as Century Films, Arrow Media, Raw TV and more. He returned to Ireland in 2020 and commuted internationally to showrun Lost Cities Revealed with Albert Lin for National Geographic and Disney+.

O’Shea has also developed and directed several specialist factual and access-led series for U.S. networks, including Terror in the Skies (Smithsonian Channel), Unseen Rivers with Jeremy Wade (National Geographic /Disney + ), Border Rico (Travel Channel) and
Wild World with Patrick Aryee (Love Nature).

“Ireland is bursting with amazing stories, epic landscapes and world-class storytellers,” O’Shea said. “It’s the perfect place for making films and television shows. Indiepics has been doing it domestically for over 30 years. Drama has already proved it can be done on a global level. And there are great strides being made in studio-based shows for the international market–why not factual and factual entertainment? I’m convinced there is space for new, world-class unscripted producers in Ireland. I’ve been fortunate enough to work with some of the best doc and factual producers in the world. And I hope a little bit of their magic has rubbed off. There is every reason to think Ireland can be a significant player in this market. We have all the ingredients.”

Conor Moloney, managing director at Indiepics, added, “We are hugely optimistic for the future of unscripted and Indiepics’ potential in a big global market. Eoin’s creative experience on premium content for some of the world’s biggest players make him a standout hire for us. Couple that with those wily Kilburn-to-Kerry roots and you have someone well placed to find, develop and produce great Irish content with truly global appeal.”
