ID Reveals Docuseries from Octavia Spencer & Paula Zahn Renewal

ID has commissioned Feds (w.t.), a six-part series with Octavia Spencer’s Orit Entertainment and October Films, as well as a 25th season of On the Case with Paula Zahn.

Feds (w.t.) features exclusive access to active-duty FBI agents and will detail high-profile, dangerous and unusual cases as told by agents, informants, undercover operatives and victims. It is the second project in Spencer’s deal with ID and discovery+.

The docuseries is executive produced by Spencer, as well as Brian Clisham and Stephanie Kluft for Orit Entertainment and Gillian Pachter and Matt Robins for October Films.

“A big part of my excitement about our partnership with ID was the opportunity to bring incredible stories to true-crime fans from an entirely new perspective,” Spencer, founder of Orit Entertainment, said. “As viewers, we have never been as inside the case as we are in this series. Being a true-crime follower myself, speaking to active special agents with the FBI has been a thrill, and I could not be more excited to share Feds (w.t.) with the ID audience.”

“When we partnered with Octavia, we knew her passion for telling unique and powerful stories would bring our audience inside exciting new worlds of true-crime storytelling,” said Jason Sarlanis, president of crime and investigative content, linear and streaming at Warner Bros. Discovery. “Delivering unprecedented access, Feds (w.t.) goes deep inside the FBI to reveal gripping, behind-the-scenes accounts of high-profile stories from the active federal agents who lived them firsthand, and we know ID’s viewers are going to love this groundbreaking approach.”

ID has also greenlit a 25th season of On the Case with Paula Zahn, set to debut on September 4 with the show’s 350th episode. In the episode, police investigate the brutal murder of Alisha Canales-McGuire and try to determine if the ambush-style shooting was actually a case of mistaken identity.

On the Case with Paula Zahn is produced by Scott Sternberg Productions and Weinberger Media. New episodes are available to stream the same day as they air on discovery+.

“In today’s television landscape, On the Case with Paula Zahn has achieved the unimaginable and reached an incredible milestone with the premiere of its 25th season and 350th episode,” Sarlanis said. “Day in and day out, Paula’s unparalleled grace, professionalism and journalistic integrity shine through in each episode, which has so clearly resonated with fans for years, making On the Case a signature pillar of ID. We are thrilled to celebrate these accomplishments with Paula and the entire creative team as they continue to unravel shocking crimes, leaving their mark on television and the community around us.”
