ID Lines Up Betrayed from Kevin Spacey’s Trigger Street

SILVER SPRING: Investigation Discovery (ID) has ordered the all-new crime series Betrayed from Kevin Spacey and Dana Brunetti’s Trigger Street Productions, All3Media America and Giant Pirates Entertainment.

Betrayed is slated to premiere exclusively on Investigation Discovery on August 24 at 9 p.m. The show revisits cases of deception by a family member, co-worker, lover or friend that resulted in murder. The stories are told from the fictionalized perspective of the victims, treating the viewer as a confidant. The premiere episode, “No Escape,” tells the story of Susan Smith, who agreed to serve as an FBI informant when her husband’s bank-robbing best friend moved into their home.

Betrayed is at once both chilling and relatable in its portrayal of chasing the American dream and how dramatically the veneer can crumble, exposing the sin that hides beneath,” said Henry Schleiff, the group president of Investigation Discovery, American Heroes Channel and Destination America. “There’s no doubt that this is a particularly exciting time for crime television and, from the notorious newsmakers to emblematic whodunits like Betrayed, ID remains the authority in telling these stories.”
