Hollywood’s Best Film Directors Scores Renewal in Italy

PARIS/LOS ANGELES: NBCUniversal International Networks in Italy has renewed Prime Entertainment Group’s factual series Hollywood's Best Film Directors.

This marks the sixth deal the companies have done together since 2012. Among the directors featured in the series is Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire, Trainspotting, The Beach, 127 Hours). The interview with Boyle was filmed a few weeks ago in London. Hollywood's Best Film Directors has aired in 140 territories on channels such as HBO and Paramount Channel. NBCUniversal International Networks in Italy previously acquired the series Close Up from Prime.

"Hollywood's Best Film Directors is my favorite show," said David Freydt, the managing director of Prime Entertainment Group. "When we started it six years ago, we were [among the] very few to believe that directors talking about their craft and giving anecdotes about their movies would be appealing to the audience. And today we have the pleasure to be on so many fantastic channels all over the world, with so many people loving the show. Last week during AFM in Santa Monica, we learned that this show is performing very well on Netflix Canada and the U.S.! That's what we want to hear, and renewing today with Universal Italy is a great satisfaction."
