France Télévisions Takes Doc Package from ZDFE

MAINZ: ZDF Enterprises (ZDFE) has sold several factual titles, among them Apocalypse Neanderthal, to France Télévisions for French-speaking territories.

France Télévisions pre-bought Apocalypse Neanderthal, produced by Story House Productions and C-Tales Entertainment in association with ZDF Enterprises, HISTORY and History TV. The documentary examines why Neanderthals became extinct despite the fact that they were cultured and technologically savvy. France Télévisions also pre-purchased How Climate Made History. Produced by Story House Productions for ZDF and ZDF Enterprises, it examines the little-known connections between Earth’s climate and major historical events.

Another pickup from ZDFE.factual was the 3×50-minute series The Ascent of Civilization, produced by Gruppe 5 Filmproduktion for ZDF and ZDF Enterprises. The series questions myths and clichés about ancient cultures. It investigates what the Vikings were actually like, what the Romans accomplished and more. France Télévisions also went for the two-parter The Invasion: The Outbreak of World War II. This program, produced by ZDF in collaboration with TVP Poland, reconstructs how Hitler triggered a chain of events that sparked WWII and depicts the suffering of the Polish people.
