Veteran producer and former Roc Nation executive Patrick Reardon has been appointed president of Jupiter Entertainment.

In his new role, Reardon will oversee all creative and assume the responsibility of the day-to-day operations of Jupiter’s New York and Knoxville offices. He will be tasked with creating original formats and generating new character-driven series for broadcast, cable and streaming platforms, as well as overseeing a busy production slate that includes a dozen series delivering over 250 hours of programming per year.

He will report directly to Stephen Land, founder and chief executive officer of Jupiter.

Current President Allison Wallach plans to step down at year end to explore new options although she remains in discussion with the company about possible roles.

Reardon has a long history with Jupiter, having collaborated and co-produced a half dozen projects with Jupiter, while at Roc Nation and The Weinstein Company.

Reardon is an Emmy-nominated producer and executive with over 15 years of industry experience. He served as the head of the film and television division for Roc Nation, where he developed and packaged premium content. While there, the division set up a number of series, including the BBC scripted co-production Noughts and Crosses, a premium HBO documentary series chronicling the Atlanta child murders case, and the Amazon documentary series #FreeMeek.

Previously, he held the position of co-head of television for The Weinstein Company, where he oversaw its flagship Project Runway franchise, produced the Peabody Award-winning Time: The Kalief Browder Story and the six-part documentary series Rest in Power. Earlier in his career, Reardon spent time as head of production and development for Original Media, where he oversaw production and helped launch long-running franchises, including Inkmaster, Comic Book Men, NY Ink, Dual Survivor and Swamp People.

Jupiter’s work includes the true-crime franchises Snapped (Oxygen), In Pursuit with John Walsh (ID), Southern Gothic (ID), Homicide Hunter (ID) and Killer Couples (Oxygen).

Land said, “Having worked with Patrick for a long time, we know he has an incredible creative vision and a passion for quality production. His successful track record in developing fresh ideas and producing premium content, especially documentary series and male factual programming, will further fuel Jupiter as we prioritize those spaces.”

Of Wallach’s departure, Land added: “For over a decade, Allison has contributed greatly to Jupiter’s success, first as our agent and then as our president. We are confident our paths will cross again as she explores her next chapter.”

Reardon said: “I’ve known and collaborated with Stephen and his incredibly talented team for years, so it’s an honor to be joining such a prolific company. I look forward to building on their success and continuing to set the bar for premium content across all genres.”
