Food Network to Launch Down Under

SYDNEY: SBS is slated to launch Food Network, devoted to culinary-themed programming, in Australia next month.

Food Network will begin airing in the country on November 17. Viewers will be able to watch the channel for free when it goes live at 1 p.m. Aussie chef Curtis Stone will star in several shows on the network, including Beach Eats USA, Kitchen Inferno and Surfing the Menu. Other programming highlights include Rachael Ray's 30 Minute Meals, Giada at Home, Reza: Spice Prince of Vietnam, Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern, Diners, Drive Ins & Dives and Chopped, sourced through an output and licensing deal with Scripps Networks Interactive. The channel will also feature a variety of SBS's locally made programs led by Australian personalities.

Food Network Australia will air 24 hours a day, seven days a week. All shows will also be offered through SBS On Demand.
