Extraordinary Escapes with Sandi Toksvig Renewed

Extraordinary Escapes with Sandi Toksvig has been picked up by Channel 4 for a second season and a Christmas special.

In the new six-part season, Toksvig will be joined by more fascinating and funny women as she travels to vacation destinations across the U.K. Season two of Extraordinary Escapes will premiere on Channel 4 in early 2022. The Christmas special will air on December 28.

This time around, Extraordinary Escapes will explore Devon, Cornwall, the Scottish Highlands, Wales, Norfolk and the Highlands and Islands. Accompanying Toksvig are Sue Johnston, Sunetra Sarker, Sarah Millican, Sara Pascoe, Jenny Éclair and Phillipa Perry. For the Christmas special, Fay Ripley, Deborah Meaden and Maggie Aderin-Pocock will join Toksvig on a Scandinavian adventure.

Both the series and Christmas special are produced by Tuesday’s Child Television. It is distributed by All3Media International.

Toksvig said: “Filming the first series of Extraordinary Escapes was the most heavenly experience, so I’m delighted I get to spend yet more time in the company of six fabulous females against a backdrop of some of the country’s most beautiful bolt holes. I feel very lucky to have the opportunity to slowly wander through and admire the U.K.’s most tranquil landscapes—all in the name of work.”
