DRG Adds Historical Programming to Catalogue

LONDON: DRG has acquired a number of new history-based titles, including the global rights for the political docuseries Race for the White House.

Race for the White House, which is produced by Raw TV and Trigger Street, debuted earlier this year on CNN. The six-part show is narrated by Oscar winner Kevin Spacey (House of Cards), who also serves as an exec producer. Each episode tells the story of one iconic U.S. presidential campaign.

Noel Hedges, the executive VP of content at DRG, commented: “Race for the White House is a strong addition to our catalogue of history programming. We are thrilled to have acquired the rights to such exciting event programming, made by brilliant producers, and it is also extremely topical given the upcoming U.S. election.”

DRG also snapped up the global rights for the royal history programs Britain’s Bloody Crown, made by 5 Productions for Channel 5; The Queen’s Worst Year, produced by Blakeway for Channel 4; and The Secret Photos of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, produced by Hola Films for Spain’s Hola TV.
