Channel 5 Orders Wonders of the Human Body

Channel 5 has commissioned a new series featuring Dr. Michael Mosley.

The three-part Wonders of the Human Body will be presented by the health guru and science journalist as he sets out to decode the human body, inviting viewers to see their bodies in new ways and understand how they work.

The series is produced by Glasgow production company Storyboard Studios and is set to air later this year. Topics to be unpacked during the series include: What happens inside our bodies when we catch a virus? What goes on in our bones as we age? Why do arteries narrow in some people but not others? How do doctors replace a heart or a hip?

“This was a fascinating series to make, and I learned a lot about the workings of the human body in general, and my own in particular, which I am looking forward to sharing,” Mosley said.

Kit Morey, commissioning editor of unscripted for Channel 5 and Paramount+, added: “This enthralling three-part series forms part of Channel 5’s wider push into science programming. Dr. Michael Mosley guides viewers expertly through the hidden wonders of the human body, exploring the questions we have all often pondered.”

Storyboard Studios’ Natalie Humphreys said: “We want to make the science of the human body relatable and appealing to a big broad audience. There’s so much we still don’t know, and discoveries are being made all the time, so making this new series is exciting for us as a team.”
