Channel 5 Gives Series Order for No Place Like Home

Channel 5 has ordered No Place Like Home to series following the success of its three-episode run earlier in the year.

The new series will be produced by Hungry Jay Media, Jay Blades’ joint venture with Hungry Bear Media. While Blades fronted the first three episodes, the full series will feature a host of new celebrities as they explore their own histories.

No Place Like Home will be a six-part series that sees celebrities return to the neighborhoods where they grew up. Each episode will center on a different person.

Blades, managing director of Hungry Jay Media, said: “It’s great to be working with Channel 5 again. I loved being a part of the first series as I embarked on an unbelievably special journey through the streets that made me. I can’t wait to see all other celebrities go through my experience on their own patch.”

Dan Baldwin, managing director of Hungry Bear Media and executive producer, commented: “No Place Like Home is a special series that combines history, community and celebrity. The streets where we grow up shape us as people. In this series, the celebrities, alongside the Channel 5 viewers, are going to have their eyes opened to the magical places they grew up and the incredible history on their doorsteps.”

Daniel Pearl, commissioning editor of unscripted at Channel 5 (VP), added: “Our audience really connected with this series, so it was clear that we should expand this format and explore more stories continuing to prove that Channel 5 develops returnable series and works with exciting talent.”
