C4 Unveils New Series with Explorer Levison Wood

Channel 4 has revealed its fourth major series with explorer Levison Wood, tentatively titled From Russia to Iran.

The series will begin with Wood in southern Russia, tracking the Caucasus Mountains toward Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia and into Iran. Crossing snow-capped mountains, canyons and volcanic deserts, Wood will see some of the most little-known landscapes in the world during his 2,600-mile trek. Trailed by secret police and passing through forgotten war zones, he will meet wolf hunters, reclusive monks, mothers of ISIS fighters and an Iranian biker gang along the way. Wood will travel with locals and live as they do as he journeys to the shores of the Caspian Sea in Iran.

From Russia to Iran is co-produced by October Films and Motion Content Group. The series producer is Jamie Berry and executive producers are Jos Cushing for October Films and Melanie Darlaston for Motion Content Group. The commissioning editor for Channel 4 is Alf Lawrie.
