CBS Lines Up True-Crime Shows

CBS has slated the true-crime series Whistleblower and Pink Collar Crimes, which examine wrongdoings by major corporations and female felons, respectively.

Whistleblower will premiere on Friday, July 13, at 8 p.m. The show examines circumstances in which heroic people risk everything to expose the illegal and dangerous activities that occur when major corporations rip off U.S. taxpayers. Hosted by attorney Alex Ferrer, a former judge and police officer, each hour-long episode introduces cases in which ordinary people step up to do the right thing and risk their careers, families and lives to ensure that others are not harmed or killed by corporate greed. The premiere episode will feature cases involving pediatric dental chain Kool Smiles and pharmaceutical giant Bristol-Myers Squibb. Whistleblower is produced by CBS News for CBS Television Studios.

Pink Collar Crimes, meanwhile, looks at women who committed crimes and served hard time. Each episode features analysis and insight from prosecutor, author and TV correspondent Marcia Clark. The series premiere, on Saturday, July 28, at 8 p.m., will look at a soccer mom who robs banks in her red minivan after dropping off her kids at school. The program is produced by CBS Television Studios.
