CBC & Radio-Canada Distribution Inks Sales for Trimates

CBC & Radio-Canada Distribution’s two-part special Trimates, narrated by Sandra Oh (​Grey’s Anatomy, Killing Eve)​, ​is now available in nearly 100 territories.

​​Trimates​ tells the story of Jane Goodall, Dian Fossey and Birut​é​ Galdikas as they fought to save the great apes, inspiring a generation. Originally broadcast on CBC (as ​She Walks with Apes​), the special was produced by ​Grand Passage Media. It has now been sold in the U.S., throughout Europe and Asia.

CBC & Radio-Canada Distribution, which serves as the content licensing arm of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, is also releasing a slate of timely environmental docs for the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, including ​Accidental Wilderness, ​Nature’s Clean Up Crew and Feeding the Planet. It will also preview its latest explosive climate change film, ​Rebellion, produced by Grand Passage Media,​ ​along with River Road Film’s new 4K weather series ​Forces of Nature (working title)​. Both films will be available this fall. The distributor will also be releasing a new five-part 4K version of the popular White Pine Pictures’ arts series ​In the Making… a​nd Peacock Alley Entertainment’s ​Jensplaining. Rounding out the spring releases are two true-crime titles—the updated Melbar Entertainment-produced Harvey Weinstein doc, ​The Reckoning: Hollywood’s Worst Kept Secret​, and a preview of the new Yap Films’ crime series Murder on the Fringe​.
