Blue Ant Studios Inks First-Look Deal with Tony Tackaberry

Blue Ant Studios has signed a first-look deal with Tony Tackaberry (Ca$h Cab, The Murder List) and his newly launched production company, Station 6 Productions.

Tackaberry, formerly the CEO of Lion Television US, and Station 6 will work with Blue Ant to develop and produce unscripted projects spanning premium documentaries, nonfiction series and a wide range of formats.

Tackaberry will work closely with Blue Ant Studios’ Laura Michalchyshyn, CCO and co-president of global production, and Sam Sniderman, co-president, to bolster the company’s U.S.-based production business.

Station 6 is already in talks with streamers and platforms about a number of projects, including a partnership with a two-time Academy Award winner and a format built around a young influencer.

Before founding Station 6 Productions, Tackaberry was CEO of Lion Television US. Under his leadership, the company became a leader in true crime, with multiple series on Investigation Discovery. He was also responsible for rebooting Lion’s Ca$h Cab format for Bravo. Prior to joining Lion TV, Tackaberry worked for companies such as Endemol, Fremantle and Tiger Aspect.

“There’s a growing thirst for diverse and distinctive content across unscripted genres, and Station 6 is a response to this demand,” Tackaberry said. “I want to build a slate of programming that puts innovation and creativity at the forefront. It’s an incredible privilege to be working closely with Laura and Sam and their team at Blue Ant Studios. They’re both strategically and creatively ambitious visionaries—Laura is an icon in the business who did premium way before it was a thing, and Sam is a seriously astute and savvy commercial thinker. I can’t imagine having better partners.”

Sniderman added, “Tony is a sought-after creative with an impressive global content portfolio that speaks for itself and deep experience developing fresh takes on formats to bring them to new audiences in the U.S. and beyond. We are incredibly excited to collaborate with him as he starts this new venture with Station 6 Productions, as we double down on our production efforts out of New York and continue to expand and diversify our unscripted slate.”
