BBC Studios Scores Slots for The Planets

BBC Studios says it has secured a raft of deals on the Brian Cox-fronted science series The Planets, which has already delivered strong performances on BBC Two in the U.K. and Tencent in China.

The five-part BBC Studios Science Unit production wraps its BBC Two run in the U.K. this week. Episode one had more than 3 million viewers on BBC Two. In China, the show logged 520 million views on Tencent. Deals have also been secured with NHK in Japan, PBS in the U.S., BBC Earth in Canada, ABC Australia, France 5, VRT in Belgium, ZDFinfo in Germany, Russia’s Amedia, ETV in Estonia, Hungary’s MTVA, YLE Finland, DR in Denmark and NRK in Norway. The series is also airing on the BBC Earth channel in Asia (excluding China), the Middle East, Nordics, Poland, South Africa, Turkey and across CEE.
