BBC Studios Hires for Factual Entertainment & Events

Martha Housden and Claire Popplewell are joining BBC Studios’ Factual Entertainment & Events creative team, effective immediately.

Housden was named creative director of development, charged with leading the development output for BBC Studios Factual Entertainment & Events while collaborating closely with the existing team. She previously worked for Twenty Twenty as director of development for more than four years.

Popplewell was appointed creative director for BBC Studios Events, overseeing a team that creates and covers major U.K. and international events. Most recently, she produced and directed worldwide coverage of The Royal Wedding: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Hannah Wyatt, the managing director for Factual Entertainment & Events at BBC Studios, remarked: “I’m really delighted that Martha has joined the team; she’s a fantastic creative talent and will help us find the next generation of formats for BBC Studios. Claire’s experience and vision make her absolutely the right person to lead the Events area forward and build on its brilliant reputation.”
