Back to the Present Doc Licensed in 40-Plus Territories

LONDON/PARIS: CAN’T STOP media’s exclusive documentary event special Back to the Present has been licensed in more than 40 territories, including the U.K. and Germany.

The documentary pays tribute to the Back to the Future movies and examines the way the future was presented in 1989, when the second Back to the Future movie was released. HISTORY will exclusively air the hour-long documentary in the U.S. on October 18 at 10 p.m. In the U.K. and Ireland, it will premiere exclusively on a leading OTT platform. In addition, Discovery picked up the title for its free-TV channels in Spain and Italy and pay TV in Poland. Other broadcasters that have picked up the special include Nippon TV in Japan; RTL2 in Germany; Globosat in Brazil; RTBF in Belgium; DIRECTV in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela and the Caribbean; and SRF and RTS in Switzerland.

Additional deals with digital platforms in French-speaking Canada and other countries are in the works. Back to the Present is produced by AlloHouston and was commissioned by French DTT channel D8.
