Arrow Media Unveils ID Crime Show Renewals, Adds New EP

LONDON: Arrow Media has named Sam Starbuck to the role of executive producer and has been commissioned by Investigation Discovery (ID) to produce additional seasons of See No Evil and American Monster.

ID renewed See No Evil for a third season. The 13-part series, which launched on ID in 2015, is a co-production with Canada-based Saloon Media. It reveals shocking murder mysteries frame by frame. The third season of See No Evil will be distributed internationally by eOne. It was commissioned by Investigation Discovery in the U.S. and Bell Media’s French-language broadcaster Canal D in Canada.

Arrow Media will also produce a sophomore season of the 10×1-hour series American Monster. The show lifts the curtain on the double lives led by America’s most terrifying killers, featuring home footage of the culprits with their family members and friends, as well as police interrogation tapes, CCTV footage and more.

In addition, Starbuck has been tapped to serve as executive producer across the slate, working directly with Arrow’s co-founder and joint creative director, Tom Brisley. Starbuck has produced a host of high-profile programs and series for the BBC, Nutopia and Raw TV. Her credits include Nat Geo’s No Man Left Behind, Syfy’s Paranormal Witness, Sky Atlantic’s The British and ITV’s Britain’s Biggest Adventures with Bear Grylls.

Brisley said, “Following the great success Arrow has had with See No Evil and American Monster, we’re delighted to extend our relationship with Investigation Discovery and create even more captivating true-crime programming. As we continue to build on our heritage of innovative storytelling and push the boundaries within the genre, Sam is the perfect candidate to help fuel our ambitions. She has unrivaled experience in producing high-quality factual programming and really understands how to tell a story in the most immersive ways for viewers.”

Starbuck added: “Arrow is a production company known within industry as bearing the gold standard for factual programming. Its programs are always fascinating, innovative, informative and compelling—you can’t help but be captivated. So I look forward to working with Tom, John and the rest of the team to build on its success.”
