A+E Networks has acquired the international rights for the second season of the Travel Channel series Paranormal Caught on Camera.

A+E Networks also has the rights to season one of the show, which aired in February. To date, the series has been picked up by e.tv HD (Africa), Radx. Oasis Hifi (Canada), Canal D (French-speaking Canada), Manoto (the Middle East), WP (Poland) and Factual Programs (Spain), among others.

From Meetinghouse Productions, Paranormal Caught on Camera showcases the world’s weirdest, wildest and scariest videos of everything from UFOs and ghosts to cryptids and conspiracies. In each hour-long episode, a panel of expert commentators analyzes footage of unexplained phenomena and the first-person stories behind them. The first season of the show premiered to Travel Channel’s highest ratings since 2003, posting a 50 percent increase year-on-year for its time slot and ranking in the channel’s top three original series of all time.

The 26×60-minute second season, scheduled to bow in January 2020, will again be executive produced by Jason Cilo for Meetinghouse and Charles Nordlander for Travel Channel.

Cilo said: “As a U.S. independent producer that regularly attends the international programming markets, we have a pretty good feel for what works for global viewers, and what doesn’t—and there’s no question that the only thing that’s explainable about the unexplained is that audiences love it. Travel Channel’s runaway success with Paranormal Caught on Camera is clear proof that if UGC clip shows are well made and have credibility, they can deliver exceptional results for a long time up and down a programming grid. With A+E’s help, we look forward to intriguing and terrifying many more people around the world.”

Richard Tulk-Hart, managing director of international content sales and co-productions at A+E Networks, said: “Paranormal Caught on Camera ticks many boxes for our international buyers; a great tone that’s really informative whether you believe or are a dedicated skeptic, a fantastic diversity of clips from all over the world, and Meetinghouse’s signature quality of production, which means each episode has a glossy, highly-produced look and feel.”
