Adam Levine Executive Producing New YouTube Original

Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine is executive producing the new YouTube original series Sugar, which launches on YouTube Premium August 15.

Sugar will feature such special guest talent as Maroon 5, Blake Shelton, Snoop Dogg, Charlie Puth, Kelly Clarkson, A$AP Ferg, 5th Harmony and Bad Bunny. The eight-part show sees artists surprise some of their biggest fans, who have contributed to their communities in empowering ways. It was inspired by the Maroon 5 music video “Sugar” that attracted 2.5 billion views around the globe.

Sugar is made by 222 Productions and Entertainment One’s Renegade 83. The series is exec produced by David Dobkin (“Sugar,” Wedding Crashers). In addition to Levine and Dobkin, Jay Renfroe, David Garfinkle, Megan Wolpert Dobkin, Josh Gummersall and Todd Yasui are executive producers.

“I’m really excited to show everyone this interesting show and experiment that is filled with many different experiences, as well as emotions, based on the concept behind our video for ‘Sugar,'” said Levine. “I’m extremely grateful and equally excited for all who participated on BOTH sides of the camera. It’s going to be fun to watch! I hope you like it!”

“Not only is Adam Levine an incredible artist, but he uses his voice to inspire others all around the world—which so beautifully aligns with what YouTube stands for,” added Susanne Daniels, the global head of original content at YouTube.
