Nat Geo Names EVP of Global Communications & Talent Relations

WASHINGTON, D.C.: Chris Albert has been elevated to the post of executive VP of global communications and talent relations for National Geographic Channels.

In his new role, Albert will be tasked with developing and executing global consumer and trade communications strategy for the National Geographic Channel, Nat Geo WILD, Nat Geo People and Nat Geo MUNDO. In addition, he will work to align the channels’ communications efforts in support of the expanded joint venture between 21CF and the National Geographic Society, which brings all of the media assets of National Geographic together into one global super brand. He will be based in Washington, D.C.

Albert began his career at National Geographic in 2000 as the director of communications. During his tenure, Albert and his team launched landmark campaigns for shows such as Brain Games, Breakthrough, Saints & Strangers, Killing Kennedy and The Story of God with Morgan Freeman. In 2010, Albert helped launch Nat Geo WILD and has been instrumental in promoting many of the channel’s franchises, including Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan, The Incredible Dr. Pol and Big Cat Week. Prior to joining National Geographic Channels, Albert worked at Sony Pictures Television.
