Cardiff Productions has altered the structure of its senior management team to support its strategic growth, with Narinder Minhas, co-founder and co-managing director, taking over as CEO.

“We’ve got a hugely talented Welsh team and have recently experienced significant growth, with wide-ranging interest in our approach to making bold, diverse programming,” said Minhas. “Now is the perfect time for us to focus on the strategic development of the company.”

Minhas’ fellow co-founder, Pat Younge, is shifting from co-managing director to non-executive director to concentrate on company strategy while also developing his growing portfolio of external commitments. In January 2020, he became chair of the governing body of Cardiff University. He also chairs the British Broadcasting Challenge, a campaign aimed at supporting the continuation of British public-service broadcasting, and is a non-executive director for ITV Studios. In addition, he is an investor and on the board of the podcast company Unedited.

“Pat will use his experience and insight to help shape the company’s strategy, and I’m excited to be working with him in this new capacity,” Minhas said. “We have been working toward this natural progression for some time, as we always knew that Pat would be growing his portfolio of interests outside the company. Cardiff Productions is in a very strong position, with a brilliant team at the top, including Gwendie Carnie, our chief operating officer; Becky Nunn, recently appointed as our first executive producer; Catrin Medi, our company production manager; and Jo Wynne-Williams, our head of finance. We have already announced our move into scripted, and we continue our drive into formats and innovative factual content.”

Younge added, “We are part of a flourishing global content industry, and I’m excited to be helping Cardiff Productions spread its wings whilst, at the same time, spreading mine with a growing range of current and future external collaborations. Narinder has been the creative driving force behind the company for some time, so I am thrilled to be making our change of roles official with this announcement. Cardiff Productions is delivering some really provocative and innovative programming, the development pipeline is strong and creatively, the team is on fire. I’m excited I can continue to make a contribution to the company’s success in this new role.”
