Autentic Distribution has revealed its 2022 spring slate, which includes 90 hours of new factual content in addition to returning hit series.

Leading the slate is the five-season true-crime series Crime Time, in which prosecutors, forensic scientists, police officers and profilers describe chilling cases they will never forget, involving serial killers and child murderers.

42—The Answer to Almost Everything navigates through the big and small questions of humankind, covering topics such as fear, robot love, dreams, aging, nuclear energy and time traveling.

Through Fire and Flames, meanwhile, follows a German fire brigade as its firefighters save other people’s lives while risking their own.

The one-off nature and wildlife documentary Sri Lanka—Leopard Dynasty provides an up-close look at the lives of female leopard cubs in the southern and northern lowlands of Sri Lanka.

The history slate includes Europe’s Forgotten Border, detailing a murderous border crossing during the Cold War; The American Führer, uncovering the unknown story of fascist imposter Fritz Julius Kuhn; and several programs revolving around Sisi. Sisi’s Legacy follows the footsteps of the Empress of the Hearts in the past and present, while Empress of the Screen—The Sissi Film Trilogy and Legendary Film Dynasties display her influence on pop culture and film.

Autentic Distribution also has programs currently in development and production available for presales, including Colossal Machines II, Badass Professions II and What Went Wrong III, as well as the brand-new series Deadly Science, telling the stories of those who died in the pursuit of knowledge.

From Autentic’s production unit, Cambodia—Land of Enchanted Temples and Floating Villages travels through the country’s primeval forest and floating villages, while World’s Most Punctual Train—Japan’s Shinkansen takes viewers on a ride from Tokyo to the Kanazawa. The factual series Deadly Roads invites viewers to take adventurous rides on the world’s most extreme roads, while Bolshoi—Rise and Fall Behind the Curtain provides an exclusive glimpse of what happens behind the curtain of the famous theater.

Mirjam Strasser, head of sales and acquisitions, said: “We are pleased to present such a well-stocked and diverse lineup to our partners at this year’s MIPTV. The high-class documentaries and factual series cover stories still largely unknown to the general public—from the alleged deadliest border of the Cold War to a Nazi imposter in America to female leopard cubs in Sri Lanka. We also serve classic themes like travel, culture and people as well as science. With the long-running series Crime Time, we are opening up the new genre crime, something we are particularly excited about.”
