Martha Brass, most recently the CEO of international operations for Endemol Shine Group, has been appointed to the board of Antidote Productions.

Brass, who has held roles at FremantleMedia, 19 Entertainment and Endemol/Endemol Shine, takes up the post as non-executive chair this month. Antidote’s programming portfolio includes Professor Green: Suicide and Me, Professor Green: Hidden and Homeless, Gang Girls, Olly Alexander: Growing Up Gay and Breaking into Prison for BBC Three, as well as international content for National Geographic (YouTube Revolution) and Blue Ant Media (Mysteries of the Mekong).

Brass said: “Antidote is perfectly poised to take advantage of the growing appetite for the factual genre in the digital age. A broad range of programming—from specialist factual to factual entertainment—is in demand from viewers of all ages. In a very short space of me, Laura and Leila have proven their ability to tackle difficult and important subjects, to gain the trust of contributors and commissioners and to identify and develop talent that appeals to a young audience. The Antidote team is dynamic, passionate and diverse and I am delighted to be joining them.”

Laura Jones, co-founder of Antidote, added: “Martha has outstanding expertise in global content creation and distribuon—it’s easy to see why she is regarded as a recognized leader in international television. She is a very exciting appointment for Antidote. Her commercial, international and leadership skills will play a key role in helping us move the company to the next stage of its development.”

Leila Monks, co-founder of Antidote, remarked: “Laura and I set up Antidote to bring a new voice into the marketplace—one that challenges stereotypes and changes people’s perceptions. Through repositioning existing talent, launching new faces and gaining tough access we feel we are living up to our name and the new films we have in the wings will further cement our position in this space. However, growth is important to us and building on our domestic and international footprint is key whilst at the same me retaining Antidote’s quality stamp. Martha is exactly the right person to help us deliver on this ambition.”
