LOS ANGELES: Wonkybot Studios is developing the musical superhero podcast The Secret Diaries of Tara Tremendous into an animated series for children between the ages of 4 and 8.

The Secret Diaries of Tara Tremendous follows the adventures of a courageous young girl who receives the powers of every superhero in the world. The upcoming show marks the first animated series for Wonkybot Studios, a kids’ and family production, music and publishing company formed by Stewart St John, Todd Fisher and Michael Plahuta. The company is collaborating with producing team John Rogers and Jenn Court of Kung Fu Monkey Productions to develop the TV series.

“The audience’s reaction to the first season of Tara Tremendous was and continues to be awesome, confirming we made the right decision to launch the character in a podcast in order to build awareness,” said St John, Wonkybot’s CEO, who writes and directs each episode, composes all the original songs, co-scored the soundtrack with musical partner Plahuta, and voices the character of Dr. Epic. “Tara is a little girl with a huge heart and a lot of guts, who is spirited, determined and eventually becomes a hero who is as strong as she is sweet. Right now the world needs role models for young kids, and Tara, who has already engaged thousands of fans, is a positive influence.”

The six-episode second season of the popular podcast is due to debut on iTunes on August 2. Music CDs and books are slated for release in Q3 2016.
