WildBrain appointed Katie Wilson as VP of global sales and acquisitions and Brian Cuff as VP and general manager of WildBrain Television.

Wilson, formerly VP of channels and global acquisitions, will now lead the content sales team, drive commercial and rights strategies and oversee sales revenue, as well as manage transactional rights and sales in the U.S. Cuff, previously VP of distribution and strategic partnerships for WildBrain Television, will lead the team behind the company’s four Canadian broadcast channels and oversee day-to-day operations, revenue streams and business development.

Wilson has been with WildBrain since 2020, working across the company’s television and distribution businesses, commissioning and acquiring new series, managing creative relationships with producers and providing oversight of broadcast programming. Since joining, she has commissioned such shows as The Fabulous Show with Fay and Fluffy, Caillou, Ruby and the Well, Summer Memories, Life with Luca, Badjelly and an upcoming Degrassi documentary. Prior to joining WildBrain, she worked at Corus’ kids’ networks.

Cuff has been with WildBrain’s television group since 2015, working in progressively senior roles across channel distribution, Canadian regulatory matters and business development. He previously held senior roles with Sony Pictures Canada, CanWest Global and Astral Media.

In her new role, Wilson reports to Kate Smith, executive VP of audience engagement. Cuff, who leads the team overseeing Family Channel, Family Jr., WildBrainTV and Télémagino, reports to Josh Scherba, president and CEO of WildBrain.

Additionally, as part of the new sales team structure, Darcee McCartney has been promoted to the position of director of sales and reports to Wilson, while Rachel Julkowski has been upped to sales manager, reporting to McCartney.

“At this transformational time in our industry, we continue to lead the way in delivering great content to today’s family audiences, wherever or however they are watching,” Scherba said. “These appointments highlight the team’s experience in omni-platform distribution strategies for our own and partner brands, delivering the very best entertainment content to kids and families in Canada and around the globe.”
