WarnerMedia Lines Up New Family Block

Following the launch of its Cartoonito preschool block, WarnerMedia Kids & Family is now set to launch ACME Night, a programming block for the whole family.

ACME Night, named after the fictional corporation made famous by the Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote cartoons, will premiere on September 19 on Cartoon Network. It will feature a lineup of library favorites, as well as upcoming new originals.

ACME Night will air every Sunday at 6 p.m., and each block will start off with family-friendly blockbusters such as Man of Steel, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Sherlock Gnomes, Detective Pikachu, Scoob! and more. On September 19, it will kick off with the premiere of the DC superhero film Shazam.

“In the world of ACME, anything, and I do mean anything, is possible,” said Tom Ascheim, president of Warner Bros. Global Kids, Young Adults and Classics. “We know families want to spend time together, so we’ve created a destination for multigenerational stories that pull families together through the power of imagination.”

Alongside a lineup of previously announced series and specials that include a Harry Potter Wizarding World competition series to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai, Unicorn: Warriors Eternal and others, WarnerMedia Kids & Family has greenlit a slew of other original movies that will be added to ACME Night’s programming roster.

Among the new greenlights is Did I Do That to the Holidays? A Steve Urkel Story, written and executive produced by Wyatt Cenac, who recently signed an overall deal with Warner Bros. Animation and Cartoon Network Studios. An untitled Looney Tunes Cartoons movie will also be coming, executive produced by Pete Browngardt, who signed an overall deal with Warner Bros. Animation and Cartoon Network Studios earlier this year. Merry Little Batman, executive produced and directed by Mike Roth, will also make its way to ACME Night.

ACME Night programming will also be available on HBO Max starting next year.
