TV Kids Festival Preview: Day 3

Highlights of the February 3 agenda of the TV Kids Festival include the presentation of the TV Kids Pioneer Award to M6 Group’s Philippe Bony, behind-the-scenes looks at Cyber Group Studios’ The McFire Family and Disney Junior’s Alice’s Wonderland Bakery, a keynote from eOne’s Olivier Dumont and a panel discussion about Thunderbird Entertainment’s Atomic Cartoons. The day’s festivities open at 9 a.m. EST with a panel and premiere for The McFire Family. Pierre Sissmann, chairman and CEO of Cyber Group Studios, and Coralie Boitrelle-Laigle, head of content for M6 Group’s kids’ channels in France, give a behind-the-scenes look at the animated series ahead of the premiere of the show.

At 10:30 a.m. EST, TV Kids is honoring Bony, general manager of thematic TV channels at M6 Group and president of Gulli, for his achievements in the kids’ business with this year’s Pioneer Award.

The 12 p.m. EST keynote will be delivered by Dumont, president of eOne Family Brands who leads the creation and production of an array of leading kids’ properties, including the megahit Peppa Pig.

There’s a creative keynote at 1:30 p.m. EST with Emmy-nominated writer and producer Chelsea Beyl, executive producer of Disney Junior’s Alice’s Wonderland Bakery, which is inspired by the classic Alice in Wonderland.

A session entitled The Atomic Spirit wraps up day three at 3 p.m. EST. As Thunderbird Entertainment’s Atomic Cartoons division steps up its activities in Canada and across the globe, Jennifer Twiner McCarron, CEO; Matt Berkowitz, president and chief creative officer; and Richard Goldsmith, president of global distribution and consumer products, share details on the company’s expansion strategies.
