TV Kids Festival Preview: Day 1

TV Kids Festival kicks off February 2 with leading buyers discussing their acquisition strategies, followed by keynote conversations with Genius Brands International’s Andy Heyward, actor Tony Hale, Super RTL’s Claude Schmit and ViacomCBS’s Jules Borkent and Nina Hahn, among others. The day kicks off at 9 a.m. EST (convert to your local time) with the session Buying Time: Programmer Wish Lists, featuring WarnerMedia’s Adina Pitt, M6’s Maud Branly, Kidoodle.TV’s Brenda Bisner and Hopster’s Ellen Solberg.

At 10:30 a.m. EST, Andy Heyward, CEO of Genius Brands International, and Harold Chizick, CEO and co-founder of ChizComm, will discuss the rapidly evolving children’s media landscape and what companies should consider in order to thrive. The conversation will be followed by a preview of Stan Lee’s Superhero Kindergarten.

The 12:00 p.m. EST Creative Keynote will see award-winning actor Tony Hale join DreamWorks Animation’s Teri Weiss to share the story behind making the Netflix series Archibald’s Next Big Thing.

Next up, at 1:30 p.m. EST, Super RTL’s Claude Schmit will share how the broadcaster is staying ahead in the competitive German landscape.

Day one festivities wrap with the 3 p.m. EST panel ViacomCBS in Focus, featuring an in-depth conversation with Nina Hahn, the senior VP of international production and development for Nickelodeon International and head of ViacomCBS International Studios (VIS) Kids, and Jules Borkent, the executive VP for kids and family at ViacomCBS Networks International (VCNI).
