Surviving Summer Season Two Production Begins

The Australian teen drama Surviving Summer has begun production on its second season, with ZDF Studios again on board as co-producer and international distributor.

Season two of the Netflix series, originally created by Joanna Werner and Josh Mapleston, will follow Summer Torres as she returns to Shorehaven and stuns her Aussie friends with her newfound surfing skills. As she pursues her surfing dream, she’ll have to deal with romance, a mysterious new coach and a rival surfer determined to take her down.

Surviving Summer season two will be directed again by Sian Davies, along with Christian Van Vuuren. In the cast, it will see the return of Sky Katz, Kai Lewins, João Gabriel Marinho, Savannah La Rain and Lilliana ‘Lil’ Bowrey. Joining the cast for season two are Olympia Valance (Neighbours, Playing for Keeps), Annabel Wolfe (Black Snow) and Josh MacQueen (Black Snow).

The series is produced by Werner Film Productions and receives production supports from Vic Screen.

“It’s so rewarding to see audiences around the world embrace Australian storytelling,” said Que Minh Luu, director of content for Australia and New Zealand at Neflix. “We’re stoked to be back in the waters with Werner Productions to ride the next wave of this brilliant Aussie teen series.”
