Studio 100 Media & m4e Inks North American L&M Deal

The Studio 100 Media and m4e brands Maya the Bee, Mia and me and Heidi have landed deals with JLK Brand Licensing Group for a licensing and merchandising program in the U.S. and Canada.

The deal with JLK comes after the acquisition of Mia and me by Netflix in the U.S., and a partnership with Playmobil that will see a Heidi toy line released in the U.S. and Canada in 2020.

JLK Founders Joshua Kislevitz and Kathleen McCarthy Fording, who have both worked for United Media before, are focusing on the brands’ “one of a kind” traits during the licensing and merchandising process.

A special content distribution campaign was launched on the YouTube Kids app in the U.S., featuring a playlist with 25 full Maya the Bee episodes streaming in March and April, to see if the brands would perform well in the new territories. The viewing average spiked 273 percent during that time, suggesting consumers in the U.S. would be interested in the brand.
