WINNIPEG: Canadian VOD platform AmebaTV has picked up more than 20 episodes of Blue Socks Media’s preschool series Raggs.

The Emmy-winning show mixes animation and live action. It tells the story of five canine characters and their wisecracking pet cat who learn life lessons in their clubhouse. The episodes on AmebaTV have been trimmed down from their original 30-minute run to a faster-paced 22 minutes.

“AmebaTV is emerging as one of the best independent platforms for parents, children and caregivers to find the highest quality children’s entertainment,” said Toni Steedman, Blue Socks Media’s CEO and Raggs founder. “And we are very pleased for Raggs to be a part of the AmebaTV family!”

Earlier this year, Ameba announced the expansion of its streaming reach throughout North America by releasing its updated streaming app on Xbox 360 making all of their kids’ content accessible to young audiences on Xbox 360 consoles in both subscription (SVOD) and advertising (AVOD) supported services.
