Sky Kids has commissioned a second season of the natural-history children’s series Wild Files from Offspring Films.

Monkeys and Apes: Wild Files will follow the same formula as the first season, titled Big Cats: Wild Files. The new nine-part installment will see host Patrick Aryee use wildlife imagery, graphics and facts and figures to explore different types of apes and monkeys. The Sky original production will be available to watch via Sky on-demand and through the Sky Kids app.

Lucy Murphy, Sky’s head of kids’ content for the U.K. and Ireland, said: “Sky has always focused on providing great entertainment for the whole family, which is why we are continuing to invest in eye-catching and engaging programming for the youngest members of the household. We’re really excited to be working with Offspring again on this follow-up to Big Cats: Wild Files and bringing even more original programming to Sky Kids.”

Alex Williamson, Offspring’s founder, added: “In this series, Patrick Aryee takes an even closer look at our closest relatives: how they survive in the wild, what their strengths are and revealing some of their most bizarre adaptations.”
