Early Season Two Renewal for Disney’s Big Hero 6 Series

BURBANK: Disney XD has ordered a sophomore season of Big Hero 6 The Series ahead of the film-based animated show’s season one debut this fall.

Big Hero 6 The Series comes from Emmy-winning exec producers Mark McCorkle, Bob Schooley and Nick Filippi (Kim Possible). The story picks up immediately after the events of the Oscar-winning movie produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and inspired by the Marvel comics of the same name. The show features the voices of Maya Rudolph, Jamie Chung, Scott Adsit, Ryan Potter, Genesis Rodriguez, Khary Payton, Brooks Wheelan, Alan Tudyk, David Shaughnessy and Stan Lee.

Marc Buhaj, the senior VP of programming and general manager of Disney XD, remarked: “Mark, Bob and Nick have delivered a dynamic adventure series that follows the Big Hero 6 superhero team, led by audience favorites Hiro and Baymax.
