Nickelodeon UK & Ireland has appointed former Scripps Networks exec Katharina Feistauer as VP of programming, effective this summer.

In her new role, Feistauer will work under Alison Bakunowich, the general manager of Nickelodeon UK & Ireland. She is charged with developing and executing strong schedules and media plans across seven linear channels, as well as the entertainment brand’s on-demand and digital platforms. Her position will officially begin on July 3.

Feistauer previously served as VP of programming for the U.K. and EMEA at Scripps Networks Interactive, where for two years she managed all program functions in the region for nine channel feeds, including Food Network, Travel Channel, HGTV and Fine Living. Earlier in her career, she worked for Discovery Networks and NBC Networks International.

Bakunowich stated: “I cannot wait for Katharina to join the team. Her experience and analytical approach to programming will be invaluable as we look to cement our current success over the coming years and grow our business.”

Feistauer added: “I am incredibly excited to be joining Nickelodeon and to be working within the kids’ market. Nickelodeon is a powerhouse brand with world-renowned programming and properties. Nickelodeon UK & Ireland are in an impressive competitive position, growing share over the last year and broadcasting some of the biggest kids’ series in the U.K. I am looking forward to joining the team to take the network even further and grow audiences across the company’s platforms.”
