The Star of Andra and Tati, the first animated film for kids that tells the story of the Holocaust, is slated to air in May on Israel’s Kan.

Co-produced by Rai Ragazzi and Larcadarte, The Star of Andra and Tati will air on the network on May 1 and 2 during programming for the day of remembrance for victims of the Holocaust. The film tells the true story of two Italian sisters, Andra and Tatiana Bucci, who were 4 and 6 six years old when they arrived at Auschwitz.

The 26-minute movie tells the story of the sisters’ survival, which is intertwined with the present-day story of children who are visiting Auschwitz with their teacher. The Star of Andra and Tati has previously aired on Rai3 and Rai Gulp and is also used for educational materials in schools.
