Rai Picks Up Four Wizart Animation Features

Rai in Italy has inked a deal with the Russia-based Wizart Animation for four feature films, including the first three installments of the Snow Queen franchise.

The Snow Queen, The Snow Queen 2 and The Snow Queen 3: Fire and Ice have been licensed by Rai. The movies will air in Italy on the free-TV children’s channel Rai Gulp.

In addition to Wizart’s Snow Queen franchise, Rai has acquired the first Sheep & Wolves movie.

Annalisa Liberi, Rai Ragazzi’s head of acquisitions, said: “We are happy to bring the Snow Queen property to Italy and truly hope it will become popular with children.”

Anna Pokorskaya, Wizart’s sales and co-production manager, added: “We’re thrilled our properties will be distributed by such a popular and influential company. Hopefully, this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship and more of our projects will be picked up by the channel in the future!”
