Superprod and Plug In Digital are set to release a new mobile game for the animated series Pat the Dog.

The game will be available in eight languages (English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Arabic and Chinese) on iOS and Android. The new mobile game will use the gameplay and key features of the original Space Dog game but will be developed with Unity technology and will integrate the new CGI designs of the series.

The game is set for a year-end release, in time for the holidays.

The first mobile game, originally called Space Dog and released in 2009 on iOS and Android, lets players launch Pat as far as possible. The game was downloaded over 45 million times.

“We wish to bring up-to-date the historical games that are still very much acclaimed by the fans while keeping the simple and efficient gameplay that made its success,” said Carole Brin, chief digital officer at Superprod. “This will, of course, enable the kids’ viewers to discover their favorite dog on a game.”

“Distributing this new version of Pat the Dog was an obvious decision for us,” said Francis Ingrand, CEO of Plug In Digital. “Offering a visual and technological redesign of the app ten years after its original release is a fabulous birthday gift to the community, still very much attached to Pat! And we believe that many gamers, who are now parents, will be thrilled to challenge their kids at the best-score match!”
