Nickelodeon Sets Writing Team for Star Trek Series

Nickelodeon has assembled the writing team for its upcoming CG-animated Star Trek series.

Series producers Dan and Kevin Hageman have confirmed that the writers’ room will include Julie and Shawna Benson (Green Arrow, Batgirl & the Birds of Prey, The 100), Chad Quandt and Aaron Waltke (Trollhunters, Unikitty!, Teen Titans Go!), Erin McNamara, Keith Sweet, Lisa Boyd (The Last Airbender), Diandra Pendle-Thompson and Nikhil Jayaram.

In the Twitter announcement, the Hagemans wrote, “Every ship needs a crew. Welcome aboard! We are proud to announce our very talented Writers’ Room for @Nickelodeon’s untitled @StarTrek animated show.”

The animated Star Trek series will expand the franchise’s universe for a new generation of fans, following a group of teens who find an abandoned Starfleet ship and use it to set off on adventures. From CBS’ Eye Animation Productions, Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment, the show will debut exclusively on Nickelodeon.
