NEW YORK: STORY, a concept store in New York, has kicked off Remember When, a retro experience featuring iconic Nick series and characters from the 1990s.

Remember When launched this month and runs until September 18. STORY has partnered with more than two dozen brands—including Rugrats and Hey Arnold!—on items that celebrate ’90s Nickelodeon, such as Double Dare-themed Keds, a stonewash denim jacket from Gap and Rolex watches customized by Bamford Watch Department. The installation also features portraits of popular Nick characters reimagined by artist Charlotte Fassler.

Among the many other in-store experiences are Double Dare photo opps and physical activities; a display showcasing interviews with Nickelodeon creators; and a selfie station where visitors can get digitally “slimed.” There will also be #TBT Happier Hours every Thursday night from August 11 to September 15 featuring 1990s-inspired food, drinks and music.

“Consumer demand for ’90s Nickelodeon is off the charts and we are excited to introduce an exclusive new line of products based on our most popular shows to celebrate this iconic chapter of our history,” said Pam Kaufman, the chief marketing officer and president of consumer products at Nickelodeon. “We think STORY is the perfect partner to kick off our new consumer-products program and Nickelodeon fans are really going to love it.”

STORY is also extending the Remember When experience through brick-and-mortar and online retail partnerships with Ron Robinson and NeimanMarcus.com. Rob Robinson will host a Remember When shop in its Santa Monica store from August 18 to September 18, while Neiman Marcus will offer an online extension of the installation on its website from August 24 to September 18.

Ron Robinson, founder and CEO of Ron Robinson, noted: “The nostalgia that this collaboration with Nickelodeon evokes is energizing. I told my staff about this project and they, each one, went into their list of which characters and shows they were fond of. It’s been exhilarating for me to work together with [STORY founder] Rachel [Shechtman] and her team; they are true masters!!! Our teams have worked seamlessly together. I am looking forward to the celebration at Ron Robinson on August 18.”

Jim Gold, the president and chief merchandising officer at Neiman Marcus, added: “We are thrilled to partner with Rachel and her great team to bring STORY to Neiman Marcus. We love her innovative approach to product, marketing and the customer experience, and believe that we can collaborate in a very exciting way to showcase the unexpected for our clients—starting with an introduction of her ’90s icon story on our website.”
