Nickelodeon Greenlights Two New Series

Nickelodeon has given the green light to two new animated series, including Max & the Midknights.

Based on the best-selling book series by Lincoln Peirce (Big Nate), Max & the Midknights sees 10-year-old Max battle sword-wielding zombies, a malevolent sorceress and a fire-breathing dragon, all while having fun and forging friendships.

The series is executive produced by Jane Startz (Ella Enchanted, The Magic School Bus, Baby Sitter’s Club) and Peirce, with Amy McKenna (Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Wonder Woman: Bloodlines) producing. Showrunners Sharon Flynn and David Skelly service as co-executive producers.

Nickelodeon has also greenlit Rock, Paper, Scissors, which brings the iconic hand game to life. It centers on roommates Rock, Paper and Scissors, who are always getting into hijinks and ridiculous adventures. The series is the first short picked up for series from Nickelodeon’s Intergalactic Shorts Program.

Rock, Paper, Scissors is created and executive produced by Kyle Stegina (Robot Chicken) and Josh Lehrman (Robot Chicken). Bob Boyle (The Fairly OddParents) and Conrad Vernon (Sausage Party) also serve as executive producers.
