Oscar-nominated producer Ramsey Naito (The Boss Baby) has been appointed as executive VP of animation production and development at Nickelodeon.

Naito will be responsible for the channel’s animation content across all formats and platforms, spanning digital, TV and film. She will also manage the day-to-day operations of the animation group, where she will find new talent and projects to bolster the network’s content pipeline. In addition, she will oversee such animated hits as SpongeBob SquarePants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and The Loud House.

Naito will work out of Burbank under Brian Robbins, the president of Nickelodeon. She most recently was in charge of production on Paramount Pictures’ upcoming SpongeBob SquarePants movie. She also produced DreamWorks Animation’s Oscar-nominated feature film The Boss Baby.

“Ramsey is a proven hit-maker and creative leader who has helped bring to life some incredibly imaginative characters for audiences of all ages,” said Robbins. “One of our goals is to exponentially grow our animation business and output on every platform, and I have no doubt that Ramsey will help us get there through a new generation of innovative, creator-driven content.”

Meanwhile, Chris Viscardi, previously senior VP of animation and development at Nickelodeon, will now move into a producer position for the channel, managing the creation of feature-length animated content for both Nickelodeon and third-party digital and linear platforms.
