BARCELONA: Former Edebé Audiovisual executives Iván Agenjo and Javier Galán have founded a new animation studio specializing in children’s content.

Peekaboo Animation will focus on the creation, development, executive production and distribution of kids’ content. Agenjo will serve as executive producer, while Galán will be the creative director. The Barcelona-based studio’s goal is to deliver high-quality animated content to the marketplace. Peekaboo will work with its own projects as well as with third-party IPs, which it will represent worldwide.

Peekaboo Animation’s flagship project is I, Elvis Riboldi, a character-driven comedy based on a book collection by Bono Bidari. The project is a joint development between Peekaboo, Wuji House and Insomne Estudi. Production is slated to begin in 2016, with Galán serving as director.

Peekaboo will also serve as executive producer for third-party animated projects such as Isi from Cinètica Produccions. The new venture’s distribution catalogue is comprised of productions from Edebé Audiovisual such as Four and a Half Friends, which was Galán's first project as co-director, and for which Peekaboo has distribution rights for Iberia and Latin America. Other titles in Peekaboo’s catalogue include Never Ending Tales, Snails, Cocorico, Edebits and Takat the Dog
