Nelvana Strengthens Senior Management Team

Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana has unveiled a number of new appointments for its senior management team, including Jessica Brinder becoming senior content distribution manager for domestic and digital.

In her new role, Brinder will oversee sales of content into the on-demand space, including both AVOD and SVOD. She will work under Pam Westman, the head of Nelvana Enterprises, supporting her with North American content sales and Westman’s oversight of U.S. broadcast relationships.

Mellany Masterson rejoins Nelvana as VP of sales, consumer products and international, also reporting to Westman. She will manage Nelvana’s consumer products business globally, as well as content sales outside of the Americas and Europe. She most recently served as director of business development for Canadian toy company Imports Dragon.

Lily Yan was appointed head of brands for Nelvana, also working under Westman. She will be responsible for brands on a global basis, including content and distribution strategy and marketing. She will also oversee brand partnerships with licensors and rights holders.

Madeline Ferguson was elevated to senior international sales manager, reporting to Masterson. She will develop and execute strategies to maximize content and consumer products sales in Asia, Australia and the U.K.

“Nelvana remains a global leader in children’s animation, and this highly qualified team is positioned to grow our business and remain a winning player in a competitive landscape,” said Scott Dyer, the president of Nelvana. “The addition of Mellany Masterson as VP of sales, consumer products and international, along with other key internal promotions, enables Pam and me to focus on broader business development and future growth initiatives within Nelvana.”
