CHICAGO: Spiffy Pictures is producing second and third seasons of the hit animated series Nature Cat for broadcast on PBS KIDS next year.

Nature Cat follows a house cat as he goes on outdoor adventures with his animal friends. The two new seasons, which include 35 half-hour episodes and a pair of hour-long specials, will debut in fall 2017. The show first premiered in November 2015 and is internationally distributed by 9 Story Media Group.

Scott Scornavacco, the VP of business affairs at Spiffy Pictures, said: “We are thrilled to have gotten the green light for both seasons two and three of Nature Cat. It has been an amazing first season and we are honored to continue our partnership with PBS KIDS. We appreciate the significance of this multi-season renewal and look forward to bringing two new seasons of Nature Cat‘s signature wit and educational content to PBS KIDS.”

“We are excited to bring more new adventures with Nature Cat and his friends to all of America’s children, helping us further PBS KIDS’s mission of using the power of media to help kids reach their potential,” added Lesli Rotenberg, the senior VP and general manager for children’s media and education at PBS. “Research shows that children benefit greatly from playing outside, yet the amount of time kids spend outdoors has been steadily declining. Nature Cat helps inspire kids to explore the great outdoors, and introduces a variety of important natural-science concepts to our young viewers.”
