Viacom International Studios has started production on Nickelodeon Latin America’s new original series N00bees.

N00bees is the network’s first-ever gaming series produced with Mediapro. The show will be shot in Bogotá, Colombia. It will air on Nickelodeon in the fall. The 60-episode series will also run on the free-to-air network RCN in Colombia later this year.

The series tells the story of siblings Silvia and Erick and their friends. Silvia, who has never liked video games, does whatever she can to help her gaming-obsessed brother get the chance to participate in an eSports championship.

The show features new and established pan-regional actors, including Mexican natives Michelle Olvera and newcomer Andres de la Mora; Colombians Maria Jose Vargas and Ilenia Antonini; and Argentinean Lion Bagnis. Additional cast members are Colombian actress and model Karen Martinez, Brandon Figueredo and Brazilian actress Clara Tiezzi, among others.

“Viacom International Studios is always seeking innovative programming for its brands and audiences,” commented Pierluigi Gazzolo, the president of Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) The Americas. “Given the current worldwide trends around gaming, we are happy to introduce the eSports concept to our Nickelodeon viewers by way of this series and to extend its reach to a broader audience via RCN in Colombia.”
