LONDON: Turner’s Cartoon Network EMEA has lined up additional apparel and accessories licensees for The Powerpuff Girls in the U.K.

Bioworld Europe signed on to create a range of ladies’ daywear, featuring T-shirts, sweatshirts, jumpers and leggings that launched to coincide with London Fashion Week. New licensees will also be adding lines to The Powerpuff Girls’ accessories and cosmetics categories targeting young girls and tweens. H&A is developing cosmetics, while Trademark is introducing kids’ fashion bags and Imagine8 is on board for a jewelry and hair accessories line.

Additionally, London-based fashion label Fyodor Golan debuted a Powerpuff Girls line during London Fashion Week last month. The line is set to launch in July at select department stores and boutiques worldwide. The full range of products includes an assortment of outerwear, tops, sweatshirts, skirts, dresses and trousers for women, as well as a “mini-me” collection for young girls.

These latest signings join a roster of partners that are already on board The Powerpuff Girls U.K. licensing program. These include Blueprint Collections (stationery), Blues Clothing (girls’ daywear), Branded Clothing International (high street nightwear and underwear), C&M Licensing (mass market nightwear and underwear), Corsair Toiletries (toiletries), Drew Pearson International (headwear and accessories), Forbidden Planet (gifts and accessories), JFS Manchester (ladies’ fashion bags), Poplar Linens (bedding and Christmas decorations), Posh Paws (back-to-school bags), Roy Lowe and Sons (socks), Smith & Brooks (girls’ daywear for selected retailers), The Janger (clothing hangers and athletic wear) and William Lamb (footwear). The U.K. merchandise rollout was spearheaded in January by global toy partner Spin Master.

Maria Rosaria Milone, the senior director of category management and agent markets at Cartoon Network Enterprises EMEA, said, “The cool credentials and distinct visual aesthetic of The Powerpuff Girls perfectly translates into fashion and accessory products that are desirable to fans of all ages. Young women are drawn to the brand’s undeniable heritage and its celebration of female empowerment, while young girls and tweens who are being introduced to the show for the first time are drawn to the property as current, exciting and relevant to them.”
