More Licensing Deals for Ice Age Franchise

LONDON: Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products (FCP) has secured new licensing deals and partnerships for the Ice Age film franchise.

In preparation for the home-entertainment release of Ice Age: Collision Course, the latest installment in the franchise, Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products launched a promotion with Chipita. The campaign will run from September to spring 2017 across 18 markets in CEE.

The partnership with Chipita features Ice Age: Collision Course-themed packaging across the Chipicao baked croissants, biscuits and cakes range, each with one collectible Tazo premium inside. There are 100 different Ice Age designs, including 10 special metallic editions.

FCP also inked a deal with Esselunga, an Italian supermarket chain, that sees the Ice Age brand become part of its annual community program for schools. The campaign will run across the chain’s network of more than 150 markets, where shoppers will receive an Ice Age: Collision Course promotional product.

In addition, Les Carroz, a family ski resort in the Alps, entered into a first-of-its-kind partnership with FCP. The agreement will see an “Ice Age zone” open at the resorts, where children can take part in movie-themed ski activities. In the digital realm, Fox Digital Entertainment recently launched two new games, Ice Age World and Ice Age Arctic Blast. In spring 2017, meanwhile, FCP will launch the first “Ice Age Babies” program.

Ice Age: Collision Course was released theatrically this summer, supported by 15 FCP promotional partners for EMEA, including pan-European campaigns from Pepsico for their Cheetos snack brand, and Chipita’s Chipicao children’s brand, both first-time partners for the franchise. Joining Pepsico and Chipita with custom TV spots was Lidl, with its largest campaign with Fox to date. In addition, a total of 15 retail loyalty programs in 14 countries were secured by The Continuity Company.

Sandra Vauthier-Cellier, the senior VP for EMEA at Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products, said, “It’s thrilling to see the Ice Age franchise continuing to flourish and reaching new heights across the EMEA region. As we build up to the DVD launch of Ice Age: Collision Course, we’re confident these activities and high-profile promotions will generate excitement and further cement Ice Age‘s position as a true evergreen franchise.”
